Pretty terrible experience with Ace Handyman Services. Started off great - got my quote relatively fast and work started not too long after. First issue I had was the completion time frame (we were having a shed built). First, we were told about 3 days...then a week...then 2 weeks...by the time it was completed, a month had passed. The quality of work was great and I have no complaints there - but the scheduling between the office and handyman was horrible.
Wish that was the worst of it. When it came time to pay my final invoice (we put a deposit down for ALL of the materials), the price had almost doubled!! We would be paying over $10,000. When I asked why it doubled, the answer I received from their office person was "well, I guess the handyman is a bad estimator." I asked for the receipts and began to consult with a lawyer. A week or so later I received a corrected invoice that was about $3k cheaper, but things weren't adding up. Still didn't have the receipts. When the receipts finally came, we noticed that one materials receipt was tripled on our final invoice!! Pretty simple task to do - add up receipts. The final invoice was in the range that we knew it should have been to begin with.
I would not recommend this company to anyone! Very unprofessional on the business-end of things. Owner never responded to calls and requests to speak. He did have the nerve to have his handyman ask me for a personal tour of my place of work...
Punctual, honest, and friendly people
We recently had Ace Handyman Services install a new patio door at our house. Within a few months, it started leaking at the bottom corner, so we called Ace to see if they could come out and take a look. Tim came out to our house the next day and did a very thorough inspection of the door. He found a crack at the bottom of it, which is where the water was leaking into the house. We were able to get a new door from a warranty claim, and Tim and Trevor came out within just a few days to pull out the door and reinstall a new one. They did a great job, were very professional, and pleasant to work with. We will definitely be using them for our future projects and recommending them to our friends and family.
I contacted ACE as I had numerous projects I wanted to get done and have struggled finding help in the past. They had someone out 2 days after I called to give me a quote and had the work scheduled a couple weeks later. We ran into a couple snafus that were unavoidable and not the fault of the Handyman but he was apologetic anyway. He went out of his way to give me guidance and education on different aspects of my projects and what materials will be the best. I will absolutely use them in the future.
Great Handyman work. The billing Dept for invoices or statements took 2 yrs after the job was done to say the bill wasn't paid when it was. Need better office help to get things in order And keep updated. But the fella they sent for replacing my screen door so the dogs could look out was fixed very well and he was really nice too.
Don, Trevor and Tim were fantastic to work with and did a great job with all the projects that needed to be done. Thank you Ace Handyman Services of Rapid City--you are so easy to work with.
